Benjamin VIAL, ISTerre
Geodetic measurement for RESOLVE, Engineer assistant / University Grenoble Alpes
Benjamin Vial works as an engineer assitant from the SIG technical team (Geophysical Instrumentation Service). Technical correspondent in the national seismic network project RESIF, he participates a lot in the installation of the long term measures for the observation, in the various nationals observations networks (OMIV, RENASS, RENAG, RAP, …) within the Grenoble Universe Sciences Observatory (OSUG).
Benjamin Vial works also specifically on landslides studies, in France and Swiss, where he sets multi-parameters acquisition systems. He’s particularly interest in the telecommunication systems like GPRS in isolated environnements and autonomous energy supply installations, to retrieve all scientifics data to have for example real-time seismic event localization.
As part of RESOLVE project, Benjamin will works in the geodetic measurement team.
Initially as metal worker (drilling), then mechanical designer, now since over ten years Benjamin works in the field instrumentation on the Alps chain, and also on various kind of condition, mountain, polar regions, and glaciers.
